LIBERTY THEATER WORKSHOP

Sharing Excitement. Sharing Ideas. Sharing Community.

Our Theater Group consists of students from the ages of 13-18 that all share the love of theater. Each year we put on at least 3 shows in which our students are involved in, in many ways. We strive to create a caring, inviting, and safe space to learn and grow in the different aspects of theater. Here at Liberty Theater Workshop we are a family filled with kids from different groups and backgrounds. Our Seasons typically consist of a Play, Musical, and our Senior Show.

Liberty Theater Workshop is proud to present to you The Addams Family this spring a musical comedy (music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice) based on Charles Addams’ famous cartoon characters. Unlike the beloved TV and film versions, this musical presents a new story following this spooky family. The plot centers on Wednesday Addams, now a young woman, who has fallen in love with a “normal” boy named Lucas Beineke. She confides in her father, Gomez, but begs him not to tell her mother Morticia. This secret sets off a chain of tension in the household, especially when the Beinekes come to dinner. The Addams family’s peculiar, eccentric lifestyle clashes with Lucas’s uptight parents, leading to comedic chaos, misunderstandings, and revelations. Throughout the evening, family members wrestle with love, honesty, and acceptance: Gomez struggles with keeping Wednesday’s secret from Morticia, Pugsley fears losing his sister’s attention, and Morticia questions her marriage and aging. Ultimately, both families learn that love and truth matter more than appearances or control. You won't want to miss this fun and quirky show, combining macabre humor, well-known characters, and heartfelt themes, celebrating the Addamses’ motto of embracing what makes each person unique.
