Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a magical, fast-paced two-part stage play based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany, with the script written by Thorne. Set nineteen years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the story follows a now-adult Harry Potter—an overworked employee at the Ministry of Magic—and his youngest son, Albus Severus Potter, who struggles with the weight of his family’s legacy.
The play begins as Albus heads off to Hogwarts for the first time and is unexpectedly sorted into Slytherin House, where he forms an unlikely friendship with Scorpius Malfoy, the son of Harry’s former rival, Draco. The story explores the strained relationship between Harry and Albus, as father and son both wrestle with the expectations and burdens of the past. When the boys discover a Time-Turner, they embark on a dangerous mission to right an old wrong—only to unleash unintended consequences that threaten the present and future of the wizarding world.
Featuring thrilling stagecraft, dazzling magic effects, and emotionally rich storytelling, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child brings the world of Hogwarts to life in a bold and theatrical way. It’s a story of friendship, legacy, forgiveness, and the enduring power of love—both between parents and children and among unlikely allies. With returning characters like Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Ginny Potter, and Professor McGonagall, as well as new faces that shape the future of the wizarding world, the play honors the original series while boldly expanding its universe.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is an epic continuation of the Harry Potter saga—both nostalgic and new—crafted especially for the stage and offering a truly unforgettable experience for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
